Janet Meyerhoff, DVM
Janet Meyerhoff, DVM, was born in Monterey, CA, and grew up in sunny Southern California. She graduated in 1983 from UC Davis with Bachelors of Science in Genetics, and in 1987 from UW Madison with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. From 1987 to 1989, she took part in an internship in the Bay Area where she gained experience in avian medicine, ophthalmology, emergency treatment, and surgical practice. Since then, Dr. Meyerhoff has been practicing veterinary medicine and surgery for the past 27 years, treating countless small animals, pocket pets, rabbits, and reptiles. When not spending time with her furbabies and rehabilitating local wildlife, Dr. Meyerhoff enjoys hiking, walking on the beach, gardening and tending to her roses and orchids, and spending time with her two beautiful adult children Emma Lee and Forrest.
Customer Service Representative
has been working at Porter since 2011 (returning after working here 2003-2004). She is a bright and friendly team member. While Annie doesn’t currently have a furry family, she is partial to cats. She has an MBA from West Coast College and is a wife and mother of two. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Denise is a Client Service Representative at Porter Veterinary Center. She began working in the Veterinary field this year. Denise currently has 3 furry babies- a Golden Chow Mix named “Dreamer” and two dumbo rats, “Fleah” and “Fresita”. As much as she loves animals and the veterinary field, she is currently a student at Pierce College with the goal of becoming a human nurse.
Patty is a Veterinary Assistant at Porter Veterinary Center. She has been in the veterinary field for 3 years and is currently a student in the RVT Program at Pierce College. She has 3 pets of her own- “B.B.”, an 8-year-old long-hair Chihuahua, her Maltipoo “Sadie”, and her 11-year-old cat, “Sunshine”. During her free time, Patty loves to go to Knott’s Berry Farm, the movies, or taking her furry fam.
While quiet, Tomás has a great attitude and is always willing to lend a hand when needed. Tomas has been a part of the Porter Veterinary Center team since 2006. He enjoys listening to music, playing soccer, camping, and participating in his church.
Cynthia is a Veterinary Technician at Porter Veterinary Center. She has recently moved to Los Angeles from Riverside and is very excited to get to know the city. Cynthia has been in the Veterinary field since 2016 and is excited to start school to become a veterinarian. Her furry family consists of two rascals- her black lab “Holly”, and her Golden Retriever “Mowgli”. She loves to spend time with her family, watch TV, and enjoy the pool on sunny Los Angeles days.
Grooming & Kennel
Karla is a caring and diligent hard worker. She has worked at Porter on and off since 2008. She is married and has two children at home. In her time off, Karla enjoys spending time with her children, camping, running and going to church.
Julio is a Room Nurse at Porter Veterinary Center. He moved to the Valley from Riverside to attend the Pierce College Pre-Veterinary Program. He currently has 6 dogs- including a miniature pinscher named “Krash”, a German Shepherd Mix named “Milo”, and a husky named “Frost”. He is always eager to learn and advance on his path to becoming a veterinarian.
Giselle is a Room Nurse at Porter Veterinary Center. She recently joined the veterinary field after volunteering as a student in the RVT Program at Pierce.
Giselle has lived in the San Fernando Valley after living in Downey as a young child. During her free time, Giselle loves to binge watch TV shows and go to the gym. She is always eager to learn from her experiences at Porter Veterinary Center.
Traci is a Room Nurse at Porter Veterinary Center that started out as a volunteer in 2019. Traci was born and raised in Los Angeles. She is currently studying at Pierce College as a pre-vet major as she aspires to become a veterinarian. Although she has not decided what she would like to specialize in, Traci is interested in large animals and exotics. She has two adorable green cheek conures, “Cookie” and “Maya” that she and her fiancé love to spoil. Traci enjoys helping both people and animals and is very eager to learn new things.
Senora is a Room Nurse at Porter Veterinary Center. She is currently attending school to become a veterinarian. Sonora has a rambunctious 12-year-old Jack Russell named “Jack”. When not at work, she enjoys being around horses as she is a part of a mounted rodeo drill team that competes for buckles around the country. Sonora also enjoys spending time with her friends and listening to music. She is eager to continue on the road to becoming a veterinarian and looks forward to new experience the field will bring her.
